We're counting down here at the Rugby Mag to the opening game of the Super Rugby season, and while doing so, we're tweaking and amending our squads.
If you've got one of our upgrades, you will have noticed some coloured discs next to players names on both your squad, and the player list pages. These are a quick indication of a player's status in the build up to the gameweek.
We do our best to monitor injuries and bans throughout the competition by utilising our in house search engine, which is constantly on the lookout for any data that confirms an injury to a player, helping you stay on top of your squad throughout the season. If a player is adjudged to be out through injury, a disc with an exclamation mark will appear next to their name; red, and it's serious; orange, and they're back soon.
Otherwise, the discs are as follows:
Green: This indicates that a player has been selected to start for their club at the weekend, and they're best placed to maximise your gameweek return.
Grey: This player has been selected on the bench for their club at the weekend. While these players will earn your team points, it is best to place a starter in your lineup if possible (unless you know they're something of a super sub!).
Red: This player has not been selected to play for their club at the weekend. While starting them in your team would obviously acquire zero points for you, you do have a few choices. You could add them to your team in the event that another player in their club side pulls out before the fixture and they are drafted in at the last minute. Alternatively, these are players that would be good to release before the gameweek kicks off. If you have an available free transfer, you should use it to offload the player and then perhaps reacquire them after the gameweek in the hope that their price has shifted and you can make some money. Lots of strategy!
No disc: If a player does not currently have a disc, it means we are waiting on their club's lineup details. Again, a quick way of helping you make decisions, we know timings can get tight in the build up!
And there you have it! We've tried to build in tools that will help you manage your team over the season and maximise your game week points, and these are included in our upgrade packages. We're a small team at the Rugby Mag who just want to help foster a love of rugby, and your support is greatly appreciated.
